Construction Administration

Construction Administration

The role of our Design Team is more than design, we are also translators. All too often, contractors become overly technical and use construction terminology when explaining something they were doing behind the wall etc.

We are Team Members with the Construction Crew

For the best experience, your designer is part of the construction team from the beginning. We invite your contractor into early project discussions during Schematic Design. We expect to be invited to their construction meetings to set up for protections, walk the project with the lead carpenter or project supervisor, and attend weekly meetings to answer their questions. This process helps us assist you in decision making and tp stay apprised of the project. Your designer is a team member with the construction crew as well as your advocate.

When we work together as a team to provide the best possible options and solutions to our clients, we are able to avoid change orders, delays and mistakes.

With the onset of COVID-19 and shelter-in-place restrictions we have modified how we work in the Construction process. At this time all residential construction, that was not already started before March 17th 2020, and is not creating a safety concern according to each building department’s standards has ceased. When restrictions are eased, Design Set Match will continue to work from home and make necessary site visits with protective masks and gloves with-in the guidelines as they are spelled out by the governing officials. Many of our weekly meetings can take place via video conference. The Lead carpenter may use their smart phone to show any areas for discussion while the homeowner, Designer and other team members assist virtually.
